Love the Void

*The Bastards are speaking to the revolution, promising to protect them, and encouraging everyone in their own paths.

*Every person has their own journey in finding their individuality, and now they are pleading for the soldiers to continue in their own journeys, to learn to love their own void.

*’Moonchild won’t see another day’ – tells us that Palaye is speaking to the revolution, to each moonchild (see characters tab for more information).

*’I’ll never, never let you go, I never want to see you low, I never want you to go’ – shows how much the royal council matters to the band.

*The lyrics mention clocks multiple times, connecting to the symbolism of time. Clocks can be seen in almost every Palaye music video, and symbolise how time seems to be passing (see symbols tab for more information). In this song, time is passing fairly quickly, and it seems like a fight against time.

*In the bridge, the Bastards are looking back to a time where they weren’t fighting, but merely being carried through life without any meaning. ‘Floating downstream’ – directly tells us that they weren’t fighting to go the way in which they wanted.

*’Humming along to the loveliest dream’ – shows an effect of Anhedonia. In the time in which they weren’t fighting for themselves, they were controlling themselves with the Boom Boom drug.

*Overall, this is a very positive song to the revolution to keep on fighting for what you believe in.
