Front Cover

*You can see that the front cover is set underwater. This could be linked to Dying in a Hot Tub as they fell into the water during the music video. The water represents obstacles on their journey – this shows that side B is a representation of them trying to break free but getting stuck along the way.

*Teacups are seen floating and in Sebastian’s hand. This could possibly be the same drink as seen in the Little Bastards animation. This could represent freedom from Lieseil’s powers and ensure that they are preserving their creativity and self identity. ‘Sitting in my teacup watching the world slowly drown’ – watching the world drown implies that they are free from whatever is causing the world to drown and that they can see what’s going on. In the Little Bastards animation, Sebastian hands Remington a teacup when he first enters the manor but Remington throws it away and then follows the Lieseil rat.

*The teacup could be opposite to the red drink/wine glass. On the side A cover, Emerson is seen to be drinking the red drink. The red drink is what Lieseil uses to control them – it is the liquid form of Anhedonia (which is used in the Boom Boom gas). This shows that side A is about the boys being under Lieseil’s control, however on side B, Sebastian is drinking out of the teacup which shows that side B is about them waking up and trying to escape Lieseil’s control.

*In the background, you can see an object that resembles a cage. It’s similar to the cage seen hanging from the ceiling in Emerson’s Spaceship Earth film.

*You can see a ray of light shining down into the water above Remington. The light represents hope/guidance. Remington is trying to reach up to the light because he knows that he has to follow it and that they shouldn’t be in the water. This symbolises that the album is about finding hope.

*Emerson is seen to be on the phone. This could possibly be the same phone as in the Get Higher music video. He’s most likely on the phone to Bartholomew Lieseil, since that is who called in Get Higher. This shows that they are trying to escape but Lieseil still knows where they are and that they can never fully be free.

*In Get Higher, Remington picks up the phone but drops it on the ground when he knows who is calling. This shows that they were strong enough to let go from Lieseil. However, on the side B cover Emerson is listening to Lieseil, which shows that side B is them trying to let go but are still being pulled back in because they aren’t strong enough yet.

*On the table you can see two candles. This links to the soft lighting theories. However, they are unlit because it is underwater and the flame gets put out by water. This symbolises that they don’t have hope when there’s lots of obstacles in their way and that being underwater makes them lose hope.

*The teapot on the table is full of flowers. The flowers are red and black which are the revolutionary colours.
