Too Many People

  • ‘Will I be fine?’ – this is a link to You’ll be Fine, and to the graphic novel preview. In page 11 of the graphic novel, there is a clock in the middle of the page, with the line ‘will I be fine’ in the corner, along with an obsidian cipher symbol meaning ‘wisdom’. This song may also be a prequel to You’ll be Fine.
  • ‘Tell me sweet sweet lies, ‘cause I’m dead inside’ – Palaye have been taken over by Lieseil, and they become dependent on his drugs/manipulation, so they yearn for more manipulation/lies to satisfy their dependence. Also a connection to Masochist, leading us to believe that this song is the prequel/counterpart to Masochist, where Palaye are trapped in manipulation, before they realise and kickstart the revolution again.
  • Palaye have slowly become despondent/numb due to Lieseil’s drugs, and this song is similar to Clockwork and Doom in that it’s a surrender to Lieseil.
  • ‘There’s too many people that walk alone’ – this could be a negative message about the revolution, and this shows that Palaye have been manipulated so much that they talk negatively about what they stand for.
  • Overall, this could be one of the most negative/saddest songs on the album, since Lieseil have almost completely taken over the Bastards, so much that the revolution is being portrayed in a negative light.
