Live Like We Want To

  • In this song, the Bastards become unafraid of Lieseil, and this song is their protest and wanting to go back to Obsidian. However, this isn’t as angry or sad as some songs on this album, and it’s more of a positive driving force against Lieseil/Warhol.
  • ‘We live in the dark days, like some kind of black haze’ – the ‘black haze’ is representative of Lieseil and Warhol’s control over Obsidian. In our colour theory, black represents Obsidian, and the ‘haze’ would be the boom boom gas that Lieseil/Warhol use to take over the island to control the citizens of Obsidian.
  • ‘I want to take you home’ – similar to Clockwork, Palaye want to go back to Obsidian/the revolution, however unlike clockwork, this is less of a surrender and more of a protest. They want to reverse the toxic mindset that Lieseil and Warhol have set over the citizens of Obsidian, and instead give them a world where they are free to be who they are – ‘home’.
  • ‘Keep the kids going’ – a plea from Palaye to the children/citizens who live on Obsidian to keep revolting against Lieseil and Warhol. This also ties in to the last line of white, where Palaye are fearful of children putting up white flags in support/surrender to Lieseil (white flags signify surrender, and in our colour theory, white represents Lieseil/Warhol (specifically Lieseil because of the song ‘White’ and his character profile)).
