Little Bastards

*The animated music video opens up with Remington walking back to Bastards Manor, and we can see a mailbox with the angel number 747 on it.

*Remington is spotted by the first rat, who then calls upon the rest to catch them. These rats are spies for Lieseil, and once they see Rem, they are instantly on alert, since the Bastards are not considered to be “model citizens”.

*When we see the interior of Bastards Manor, there is a huge hole in the ceiling, opening directly to the sky. This could be a defense mechanism for if they were found and targeted in their house. Since gas floats upward, the hole is a great way to get rid of the gas if they are attacked with Anhedonia.

*The walls are covered in portraits of royal people, though the people within them are currently unknown.

*There are also many flags on the walls of the Lieseil Inc. and Warhol Stars logos. These were put up as an attempt to fit in with the majority, to be seen as a part of the party. As Emerson has stated in an interview, “… if you’re a part of Lieseil and Warhol Stars, you represent, and you show it when you walk down the street: there’s flags hanging from people’s windows…”

*There are many clocks all around the manor, yet all of them have no faces. Similar to the Dali clocks, we believe this to be a symbol of time standing still. The manor is a safe place for the Bastards, so the time that they spend in here is of high value as to not be caught by Lieseil Inc.

*0:36- The newspaper that Andrew is reading is titled “Two more victims C__imed by the East-End Ripper”. We know from Bartholomew’s history that the west-end is the slums, so most likely the east-end is the richest part of the land. This is a massacre that is affecting mainly the rich people, which is also the only time that other people care about massacres.

*Before they see Remington enter, Sebastian, Daniel, and Andrew are all anxious about who it might be at the door, since they can never be sure if it’s an enemy.

*Sebastian seems to insist that Remington drink from the tea cup, so he does. This furthers the theory that the tea cups hold something useful to the well-being of the Bastards.

*They notice the rat in the house and start to panic, knowing what could occur later if this persists.

*Remington goes to find Emerson, and finds him asleep next to another tea cup.

*The rat reappears, but this time, with a larger amount. This confirms their fear, and they quickly go down to meet with the others and prepare themselves.

*Knowing what will be happening soon, they do what they can to protect themselves from Anhedonia- they put on gas masks. Here, another positive thing is being connected to the Underground. The gas masks, their best defense right now, come hidden from the underground. This proves how the Underground is a secretive place, but one that holds the recourses to their safety.

*The “attack” on Bastards Manor happens at the breakdown of the song. There is a sudden giant influx of smoke from the Anhedonia, but their gas masks protect them from it. It seem that through their music they are able to create a driving force between them and the rats, further proving that music is a positive and creative freedom for them.

*At the end, we see them on the roof, letting the gas that they were targeted with rise out of the manor.
