Dying In A Hot Tub

*This is another music video that takes place during the nighttime, on their journey from Lieseil Inc., as represented by the bathtub and water.

*We can see an upside down cross under Remington’s right eye, which is a symbol of Lieseil, and yet we have an x on his left cheek, a symbol commonly used to signify the close bond between the brothers and the band. These opposing symbols are an explanation of Remington’s life, split amongst these two places. He is making his way over to being fully committed to his individuality and his band, but Lieseil still has some power over him.

*As they are crossing the seas of dreams, though, they run into obstacles, signified by the water.

*Emerson notices something in the water, which we believe to be his gold pocket watch, and he dives in for it, again following the nickname, The Pirate. As soon as Remington and Sebastian notice that Emerson is missing, they dive in straight after him, showing the tight bond they have as a family, always looking out for each other.

*The water is representative of the obstacles that they faced running away from Lieseil, one of the major ones being substance abuse. This can be seen with the dinosaur and the astronaut, which are hallucinations of Anhedonia in both the lyrics and in the music video.

*2:24 – We can see that Emerson has his pocket watch back, assuming that was the object he dove in to get.

*2:38 – There is a gas mask attached to the drum set, blurred in the background, an indication of the Bastards era years before it even began.

*All three brothers start to drown, losing themselves and their identities in the face of their obstacles. But, someone saves them from the water. In the lyrics, they have said that the song was written about their friend Michael, who would be the real life saver. However in the music video, we believe that Bartholomew Lieseil saves them from drowning.

*Lieseil does not want to keep them alive, but he did catch up to them in their escape, and he wants to continue manipulating them. Saving the Lost Boys would give him a great manipulation tactic, convincing the brothers to follow his commands as payback for saving their lives.

*This theory ties into lyrics from Nervous Breakdown – ‘you say you loved me but you still left me’ – a reference to how Lieseil makes them feel like they need him, as seen by the saving in the DIAHT music video.

*The race to get away from Lieseil is more heightened, and from this point on they are held even tighter in the grips of Lieseil Inc. x Warhol Stars.
